Park Hall Hotel Charnock Richard was the venue for the installation meeting of St Michael’s Chapter No 5756, at which the companions were pleased and honoured by the presence of Assistant to the Three Grand Principals David Randerson.
David was accompanied by Ormskirk and District Group Chairman Frank Umbers, grand officers Brian Fairhurst, Philip Gunning and Stan Rigby.
After David was welcomed by the three principals, the installation ceremony commenced with Robert (Bob) Poole being installed as the first principal in an excellent manner by Neil Brown. Brian Ball was installed as second principal and Stuart Cunningham as third principal.
The ceremony was under the expert direction of ADC Alan Burgess who carried out his duties with much warmth and good humour. The first reading was undertaken by George Statham, the second reading was presented by David Smith and the third reading by Robert Midgley, all of which were clear and concise and added greatly to the ceremony.
Derek Midgley presented the first principal’s robe address, Brian Kay delivered the second principal’s robe address and Neil Brown undertook the third principal’s robe address, all in a very clear and confident manner.
At the conclusion of the ceremony David Randerson brought greetings from the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison wishing good health and a happy year in office to the three principals and to all the members of the chapter.
Bob then presented David with a cheque on behalf of the companions of the chapter for £400 to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity. David thanked the companions for their generosity on behalf of all those who would benefit from their kindness.
Following the convocation 30 members and guests retired to the hotel banqueting suite to enjoy the delights of the festive board.
