Old Crosbeian Lodge No 4992 is a unique lodge within the Bootle Group, in so much that it meets at Merchant Taylors’ School, Crosby. It is always a pleasure to attend one of their meetings which are held in the music room. The evening of the installation of Christopher (Chris) Ian Taylor was no exception.
The principal guest was the Chairman of Garston Group Howard Griffiths; also in attendance was Bootle Group Chairman Ian Gee.
The lodge was opened by the WM Andrew Thompson who warmly welcomed everyone to the installation and wished them all a pleasant evening. Chris was then presented to the WM by Don Laurie and was installed into the chair of King Solomon in an exemplary manner.
During the ceremony the working tools were presented with confidence; David Lyon the third degree tools, Peter Ware the second degree tools and Paul Grainger the first degree tools. The address to the master was well delivered by Alan Trees, the address to the wardens by Ian Fisher and the address to the brethren was delivered in fine style by Howard.
On conclusion of the ceremony Howard conveyed congratulations and the best wishes of the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison to the WM; he also thanked all the members of the lodge involved in the ceremony, complimenting them on a wonderful ceremony.
38 members then moved across the grounds to the school library for a wonderful festive board. As usual at Old Crosbeian Lodge, the festive board was one filled with happiness and joy.
If you have never visited this unique lodge and would like the opportunity, contact the secretary, Les Ware and book yourself in for an unforgettable evening, you will be made more than welcome by the members.
