The brethren of the lodge were honoured by the presence of Howard Griffiths PJGD, representing the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison, which enhanced the installation ceremony.

Also present were the St Helens and Prescot Group Chairman and Vice Chairman, Colin Rowling and Graham Williams, the musical interlude was ably presented by Prince Bagley accompanied by George Rowe.

After Chris had been installed into the chair of King Solomon in an excellent ceremony, he invested Kevin as the new secretary who had taken over from Fred Fitter after many years of good service of the lodge.

Immediately after the ceremony Howard brought the good wishes and congratulations of the Provincial Grand Master and added that he was confident in the future of this thriving lodge.

During the excellent festive board, Howard was fulsome in his praise for the standard of the ceremony when bringing his own congratulations to the new master and his brethren. He was keen to promote the Masonic websites with particular attention being brought to the Provincial website.

Howard said that he hoped that lodges would support the 2021 Festival which is now in full swing and praised the brethren of Liverpool Charter Lodge for their generosity in supporting the charities. Howard also mentioned that it was heartening to see master Masons taking offices and particularly praised John Topping for his rendition of the entered apprentice working tools, despite having been in Masonry only a few weeks.

The installing master Kevin Gates-Lundon was keen to praise Chris Hill wishing him a great year in the chair and on presenting him with the lodge master’s jewel he said that he hoped Chris would get the same pleasure from his year as he himself had enjoyed.

Chris was keen to point out to Kevin and the members and guests that a proper game involved picking the ball up and running with it, rather than merely kicking it, to which, the comment was received with much laughter by the brethren. Chris then mentioned that whatever game the brethren preferred, to play well required much work and practice, which discipline he was keen to promote in his lodge in order to maintain the high standard of ceremonies.
