Chorley group visit to Kendal

Members of the Chorley Group visited Brigantes Lodge No 9734 to witness the lodge’s banner dedication. The master of the lodge David Barr opened the lodge and conducted the normal business before calling off. At this point David invited the wives and partners of the lodge members to enter the lodge room.

The Provincial Grand Master of Cumberland and Westmorland Norman Thompson accompanied by the full Provincial team then entered the lodge room.

Norman accepted the gavel of the lodge and dedicated the banner of the lodge with the great display of Masonic pageantry that this special ceremony deserves.

Brigantes Lodge meet on Saturday evenings and at which the members’ ladies and partners always dine and make the evening a special occasion. The festive board was as always, a great success, with great food, good wine and especially good company.

The visitors from Chorley Group were: group chairman Peter Lockett with Pam Lockett, past group chairman John Robson with Kath Robson, Iain and Lynda Simpson, Peter and Janet Horgan, plus John and Jen Breakwell.
