Ridgmont House in Horwich was the fabulous setting for the annual Chorley Group Gala Dinner which was hosted by group chairman Peter Lockett and his wife Pam.
Assistant Provincial Grand Master Ray Martland and his wife Carol were among the principal guests at this prestigious event which was also attended by fellow grand lodge officers Alan Byers, David Arrowsmith, Steve Gregory and their wives.
The diners were treated to a gastronomic feast for their dinner which consisted of antipasti, fruit sorbet, lamb rump or baked aubergine, Eton mess and cheese and biscuits. Throughout the meal guests were entertained with music from a talented young pianist Andrew Lockett.
Peter Hegarty assumed the mantle of master of ceremonies for the evening, at quite literally a minutes notice and did a superb job.
Internationally renowned tenor Morgan Lee James provided a mixture of entertainment following the dinner that included opera, songs from the shows and comedy, with a special treat for the evening’s master of ceremonies!
A wonderful array of raffle prizes were on offer which included a superb hamper, a free flight , a hair dryer and several other high value gifts. The gala dinner was very well attended and all attending had a most enjoyable time.
It is recommended that you make a note in your diaries for this annual event and keep a close watch for the date to be announced, as it is sure to be an extremely popular event!
