20 members of the care team visited the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity office in Huyton. They were welcome by the deputy chief executive officer, Ian Douglas who talked about the importance of understanding both sides – Care / WLFC – of the application process and working together for the common good of potential clients.
The visitors were split into three groups for a more detailed discussion on the three main process areas: general admin, grant executive and treasury.
After all the team had been round the three elements a lively joint forum took place where questions were asked and answered by Ian Douglas and the Provincial Grand Almoner Ernie Greenhalgh. The forum was followed by a buffet lunch.
Ernie said: “My general impression was that the visit was very useful with both sides learning about the difficulties faced either in the office or out in the field. I am considering holding a further meeting for the team, as I am sure this visit has improved the working relationship between the care team and the WLFC team.”
