Brian Woodburn has made a return to the chair as the master of Halcyon Lodge No 6500 within the Preston Group. Brian previously served as master in 2017-18.
The installation ceremony was performed with confidence and sincerity by the outgoing master Paul Hardman who had served the lodge for the past two years and managed the issues around the pandemic.
Paul had the great pleasure of welcoming four joining members to Halcyon Lodge as his final act before installing Brian. They were Steve Nicholson, David Caldecott, Frederick Walmsley and David Radford, all of whom were members of the now closed Lodge of Good Fellowship No 5901.
For the installation the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison was represented by Dave Asbridge, who is a Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden, accompanied by Preston Group Chairman John Rimmer and other grand and acting Provincial grand officers.
Adding to the excellent ceremony delivered by the installing master, another highlight of the evening was the unique ‘Halcyon address to the brethren’, delivered with style by Ray Lamb, the director of ceremonies.
Brian was pleased to present Dave Asbridge with a cheque to the value of £500 for the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity. The brethren then retired to enjoy a wonderful installation banquet served up by Alistair and his excellent team at Preston Masonic Hall.
