At the beginning of November, the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison launched the Province of West Lancashire Freemasons’ Food Bank Support Appeal. Brethren of each group were asked to donate one item per day of non-perishable food, toiletries and other essential products, including Xmas gifts for children, during November – making a total of 30 items, without detriment to themselves or their families.

Donations of just a few items would help to make a difference to someone at Christmas who has had little or no income during this dreadful pandemic. This is an opportunity for Freemasons to contribute to those in need in their local community this festive season.
The first collection date was Wednesday 25 November when the snooker room at Blackpool Masonic Hall was packed with donations – an impressive start to the appeal and a credit to the generosity of Blackpool Freemasons.
The next collection will be on Wednesday 2 December at the Blackpool Masonic Hall where it is hoped the dining room will also be filled with donations.
Donations can also be deposited at the hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:30am and 10:30am. Blackpool Freemason’s Club President Colin Goodwin will be there to receive them. In case of difficulty he can be contacted completing the form on the club website page. To contact Colin, click here.
The collected donations will be presented to the Blackpool Food Bank during the weekend of 12 December.
