For just over the past two years, Aughton Lodge No 7996 of the Ormskirk and Bootle Group have developed a close relationship with the foodbank based at the Evermoor Hub in Digmoor, Skelmersdale.
The lodge has continued to support this worthy cause to assist them maintain a good level of help for those within the area who are finding meeting the weekly food bills a difficulty.
Towards the end of 2022, the lodge members became aware that the foodbank’s main chest freezer and cabinet fridge were not functioning effectively so it was decided to help to source reasonably priced replacements and to see if these could be bought and supplied to the Evermoor Hub.
From events that have been organised by Ian Tupling and John Wootton over the past few years, sufficient funds have been raised to cover the cost of a chest freezer and cabinet fridge. The two items were bought and delivered to enable Evermoor Hub to store more perishable goods to keep the foodbank going.
