Antony is master of Blainscough Lodge

The brethren and guests of Blainscough Lodge No 8532 were honoured by the presence of John Robson representing the Provincial Grand Master. John was accompanied Chorley Group Chairman Peter Lockett and group secretary Peter Allen along with acting Provincial officer.

Antony Price was installed into the chair of King Solomon by Bill Hart and Ian Simm and the lodge installation team.

The working tools were presented by: third degree by Chris Jones, second by Anthony Stubbs and the first by Noel Roberts.

The address to the master was delivered by John Chadwick that to the wardens by Joe Hall and to the brethren by John Robson.

John Robson brought greetings from the Provincial Grand Master and congratulated Antony for attaining the chair of the lodge. He congratulated the installation team on a lovely installation. The work of Peter Jackson as DC was evident throughout the ceremony. A special mention was made of the three junior brethren Chris, Anthony and Noel for a first class presentation of the working tools.

John thanked all the members of the lodge for their extremely generous donations to charity of £6,000. Comprising: Rosemere Cancer Foundation £1,500, West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity £1,700, Haematology and Transplant Support at Christies Hospital £1,100, Chorley Masonic Hall £500, North West Air Ambulance £400, United Reform Church Soup Kitchen £350, Rainbow House £200, Miles4smiles £200 and Ecclesholme £50.

The work of John Chadwick was also recognised, 18 years as secretary of a lodge is a splendid achievement.

The festive board was a very friendly and convivial affair with good food, good wine and especially good company. The passing of the port certainly helps digestion. The master’s song was sung by Andy Anderson in fine voice.
