Annual group donation to Wigan and Leigh Hospice

It is a tradition in the Wigan Group to make an annual donation to the local hospice. This is above and beyond individual lodge donations and those from the central charity structure.

The hospice is a favoured charity in the group, their good work and dedication having touched the lives of members from all lodges and chapters throughout the borough.

It is always a great pleasure to visit the hospice with such a pleasant duty to perform, so it was a full team turnout from the group executive, Geoffrey Porter (chairman), David Ogden (vice-chairman), John Selley (secretary) and Chris Reeman (charity steward) all attending to make the donation, which, on this occasion, was for £700.

They met and chatted with members of the nursing team and had an enjoyable a delightful experience. The cheque was presented to two of the nursing staff, Alison Ogden-Banks and Sue Stone, they were very pleased to receive it on behalf of the hospice.
