The chairman of the West Lancashire Masonic Bowling Tournament, Harry Cox accompanied by his wife Carol, along with his vice chairman Mark Mathews along with his wife Debbie, Trevor Barber (secretary) and Len Hart (treasurer) attended the bi-monthly meeting of the Association of the Friends of Ecclesholme to present two cheques for £1,500, to the Association of Friends of Ecclesholme Benevolent Fund and the Friends of Tithebarn.
Harry said he was very grateful to all the lodges and chapters who make donations to the WLMBT each year as without their support the donations he made on behalf of the bowling tournament would not be possible. Harry also thanked the members of the Friends of Ecclesholme and Tithebarn for all they do to provide support and amenities for the resident in both homes.
The cheque to the Friends of Ecclesholme will be used for a project taken on by the committee to supply automated wheel chairs for two residents at Ecclesholme, to make life far better for them to move around the home.
Whilst at the home the party were shown around Ecclesholme by the association chairman, Malcolm Warren who gave them a guided tour of the home pointing out the amenities that had been provided throughout the years to improve and to make life that little better for those Freemasons and their dependents living in or visiting the home run by the Royal Masonic Benevolence Institution.
Ecclesholme is the flag ship home for residents suffering with dementia and alzheimer’s. The RMBI home also provides care for those residents in need of end of life care.
