John’s two special ladies

John Moore had a lady on each arm when the Lodge of Perseverance No 155 held its Ladies’ Evening.

Unfortunately Stuart Swinden died just a few days before he was due to become Worshipful Master of the lodge and Assistant Provincial Grand Master John Moore agreed to remain in office for another year. By that time Stuart and his wife Bernardine had made all the arrangements to stage the lodge’s Ladies’ Evening at Warrington Masonic Hall.

The lodge decided that the arrangements, including the selection of food and wine made by Stuart and Bernardine, should still go ahead as they had planned.

Members of the Lodge of Perseverance along with many of Stuart and Bernardine’s family and friends were present to see John escort Bernardine and his wife Norma to the top table.

The toast to Bernardine and the ladies was proposed in his unique style by the lodge’s senior member, 96-year-old former Assistant Provincial Grand Master Cyril McGibbon.
