The Provincial Grand Master has appointed a number of Provincial Communication Officers. They are geographically disposed round the Province and in most cases they work alongside a number of Groups. They have a primary responsibility on behalf of the Province to encourage a coherence and substantial uniformity of spirit in the material that reaches the public eye and ear concerning Freemasonry in West Lancashire.

To this end they are to encourage and improve the flow of friendly information and news about the Craft emanating from and circulating within the Province and within Groups and their locality. They should see themselves, and be seen, as sources of information.

They should encourage and assist the seeking of information concerning the Craft which, when published, will be beneficial in the impression which it gives. They should assist Groups in their channelling of this information and news to interested parties, particularly the press.

An important aspect of their work is that the Communication Officers should meet each other individually and as a body in order to discuss the developing effectiveness of our Public Relations strategy, and to share and disseminate information. Formal and regularly convened meetings of the Officers will be called and attendance at them is considered important to their work.
