Woolton Group Golf Society hosted their 2012 golf competition and dinner at Woolton Golf Club. The Woolton Group Golf Chairman Graham Sinden welcomed all in attendance, which included Woolton Golf Club Captain Bob Marsden,Society President Ian Boswell, Society Vice President David Hilliard and Derek Parkinson, (Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals).
Everyone enjoyed a very pleasant day of golf, which had been enhanced by the superb condition of the greens, for which Graham Sinden paid particular compliment to the ground staff for their contribution in this area. Altogether a good day’s golf on a warm clear day.
The excellent day’s golf was followed by an excellent dinner, after which Ian Boswell was invited to present the prizes and trophies to the winning golfers.
The Presidents Trophy was won by Geoff Johnston of City Lodge No 2514 with 38 points.
The Cyril Smith Team Trophy was won with a combined score of 74 points by Sinden, Mooney and Hughes representing Princes Park Lodge No 4769.
The Geoffrey Hirst Memorial Trophy for the best front nine was won by Eric Jones of Woolton Lodge of Unity No 1086 with a score of 19 points (Card playoff).
The Noel’s Cup for the best back nine was presented by David Hawkes to Peter Johnston of City Lodge No 2514 with 18 points.

Presidents Trophy runner up: Eric Jones from Woolton Lodge of Unity with 37 points.
Guest winner: Dave McCann of Woolton Golf Club with 37 points.
Guest team winners: Woolton Golf Club with 103 points.
Longest drive: Dave McCann Woolton Golf Club.
