‘Voice of an Angel’ at Leigh

Everyone is aware of the title ‘Voice of an Angel’ given to the world famous young Welsh prodigy Charlotte Church.

Leigh might have its very own, in the form of Zoe Unsworth, daughter of Ray Unsworth, Master of Marquis of Lorne Lodge No 1354. Every year, the lodge hold a ‘Ladies Christmas Party’. The audience at this popular annual evening, which consisted of wives and friends, were enthralled and amazed at the ‘cabaret’.

12 year old Zoe stunned the audience as soon as she began to sing, with a voice that belies her very tender years. She has the mature singing voice of someone much older. In fact Zoe has already won and performed in various local and regional talent shows, including the honour of being a finalist in the North West ‘Search for a Star’ competition.

Mum Annette said, “Zoe loves singing and we are naturally very proud of her. The most important thing is that she is having the opportunity of doing what she loves most – singing.”

Other appearances Zoe has made to date include, performing at Leigh Sports Village, Preston Guild Hall,  Leigh Town Centre Christmas Lights ‘switch-on’ ceremony, Wigan Town Centre – and most recently of all, she sang on the pitch at Sale Rugby Union Club on Boxing Day 2011.
