Members of Leigh Masonic Hall are well aware of the need to maintain the structure in a good condition.
However, when ‘rock’ band ASIS put on a spectacular performance at a fund-raising event held at the hall, they raised raise the roof. But they also managed to raise over £700 on the night.
The five piece band complete with spectacular light and laser show, transformed the normally ‘staid’ hall into a classic rock, pop and soul venue; featuring numbers from the 80s and 90s to an audience of over 100.
This local group were formed in Atherton and perform regular functions for Charity and good causes. Organisers Phil Spencer and Jim Burrus said: “The evening was a great success, with excellent entertainment. Profits from the event were divided equally between Derian House Children’s Hospice and the Leigh Masonic Hall Building Fund Appeal.”
ASIS proved such a hit that they have been booked to perform again at Leigh later in the year and tickets will be available from Phil Spencer.
