There was a unique gathering at Academy Lodge No 9382 installation meeting when the present Chairman of the Warrington Group of Lodges was joined by two of his predecessors.

A pride of group chairman, pictured from left to right, are: Ray Baines, Chris Eyres and Stan Churm.
Chris Eyres regularly sees Stan Churm who served as group chairman in 2003/2004 as he still lives in Warrington and is active in the group.
However, it was the first visit to Warrington for several years for Ray Baines who served as Chairman of the Warrington Group of Lodges from 1997 until 2003.
Ray now lives in Somerset and when the Academy Lodge learned he was to attend the installation meeting asked him to respond to the toast to the founders of the lodge, of which he was one in 1991.
In his response Ray, a former warden of the Province, said he was delighted to see that he lodge is doing so well, especially as it is the youngest in the Warrington Group.
A former director of Warrington Masonic Hall, Ray said he thought the hall looked “absolutely superb” and praised the directors for the excellent work they have done.
