Old time music hall raises £700 for hospice

Members and guests of Ashton Trinity Lodge No 8821 gave their support to Alan Grice a member of the lodge by their attendance at an Old Time Music Hall at Bryn Masonic Hall.

The audience were entertained by the Liverpool Harmony Singers led by Clare Doyle.

Alan Grice, thanked all who had attended for their generosity in donating prizes for the main raffle, which along with contributions from local shops, offices and businesses and other fund-raising activities on the night raised the princely sum of £700.

Alan later presented a cheque to Mrs.Clare Waller the Ward Manager and sister Yvonne Tague at Wigan and Leigh Hospice, to assist with the purchase of a specialist bed-hoist for the In-patient Unit.

Clare said; “This donation is another example of the ongoing support we receive from the Freemasons in the Wigan area and it will assist considerably towards making life a bit easier for our staff and patients.”
