Walk on…walk on…along the canal
Each year the Woolton Group has organised a sponsored walk in aid of charity, and 2010 was no exception.
The walk this year took place a little earlier in the year to allow for the monies raised to be collected in and deposited as a contribution towards the final 2010 Festival total. The route was along the canal between Lydiate and Haskayne, a real West Lancashire treat. The walk was around six miles with the starting and finishing point being the Running Horses at Lydiate and the ‘half way’ point for refreshments at the Ship Inn at Haskayne.
The walk raises considerable amounts for charity each year and would request that those interested should keep a watch on the web site for the details of the 2011 walk.
Family and friends, (two and four legged) will be most welcome…

The walkers taking a well earned rest at the half way point at The Ship Inn.

In a break from the usual British weather the competition took place in beautiful conditions at the Woolton Golf Club.
The event was extremely well attended with 33 playing golf and 43 dining. Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, Clive Jefferies, and Assistant Provincial Grand Master Stanley Oldfield were in attendance.
